A grassroots, nonprofit founded in 2020.

Our story

One quiet evening outside her home, Renée Delorme, the founder of Bragg Creek Wild, witnessed the tragic loss of yet another deer to a vehicle on what some locals have come to call Slaughter Road. In that moment, she knew this life could not be lost in vain.

From that spark, Bragg Creek Wild was created — a diverse community of people with different backgrounds, skills, and passions, united by a shared vision: a safe and sustainable environment where wildlife and humans can co-exist. Bragg Creek Wild advocates for the protection of wildlife and their habitats by preserving connectivity, promoting safe passage for animals, reducing displacement, and fostering public education to minimize human-wildlife conflict. The group is leading several projects to increase awareness of wildlife movement and the challenges it faces. We also work closely with stakeholders on current and future initiatives in the Greater Bragg Creek area, striving to ensure that decisions support habitat connectivity and long-term ecological health.

Our ultimate goal is to bring thoughtful, creative, and forward-looking solutions that allow people and wildlife to thrive together.
